2021 Ski with a Patroller Day!

Come experience what being a Ski Patroller is like on the slopes and have all your questions answered to become a member of the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Patrol Team.

WHO ARE WE SEEKING:
Anyone who has a love for outdoor sports and a passion to medically assist. If you can board or ski and do not have or have limited medical experience, we can train you. If you have medical experience and cannot ski or board, we can train you.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
First Aid and Transport: Respond to emergencies when a skier/boarder becomes sick or gets injured on the slopes. Assess the skier’s injuries, provide immediate first aid, and prepare the patient for transport down the mountain.

Rescue:
Participate in difficult missions such as a rescue operation involving a skier who is stuck in a high angle location, an emergency chair lift evacuation, or a search and rescue mission within the entire ski area to locate a missing skier.

Safety:
Promotion and Education: Promote safety and accident prevention among skiers/boarders. Participate in safety events and teach public safety courses on safety and slope etiquette.

***Lift Ticket for Event Day will be Provided, MUST have your own equipment, and Space is Limited***

THIS IS A RSVP EVENT. AN APPLICATION IS REQUIRED. DO NOT SHOW UP TO THE EVENT UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY A PATROL REP AND HAVE RECEIVED AN RSVP INVITE.

COVID 19:
● Mask MUST be worn at all times when inside buildings, standing in lift lines, and when social distancing cannot be achieved outside.
● We are relying on you, the participants, to be safe and not attend the event if you are not feeling well or running a temperature. We will have a required health check off before you arrive.
● Do not attend if you have had close contact with someone within 14 days who has or may have been exposed to COVID 19.
